PASADENA COMMUNITY CHURCH
24 by ’24 BOLD VISION

BELIEVE

We Worship the God We Believe in…

JESUS ANSWERED, THE WORK OF GOD IS THIS: TO BELIEVE IN THE ONE HE HAS SENT.” JOHN 6:29

We Believe in the Triune God (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) and that God is worthy to be praised and worshipped.

Ministry Strategy: Worship

Pasadena’s success can no longer be entirely measured by the number of people in worship on Sunday. We must define our efforts by the number of lives we reach through sharing the Gospel. We understand our worship reaches our current congregation. However, our demographic research shows we are not reaching large portions of our community because of conflicts of time, style, and the nature of being a transient community.

We recognize worship can be delivered in new ways, not just through our traditional and contemporary worship, but by bringing God’s grace to new formats, music preferences, and learning styles. We will leverage technology to enable connectivity for both the congregation and the community. We must take the Church to the community both physically and virtually.

BELONG

We Connect and Care because we Belong…

FOR JUST AS EACH OF US HAS ONE BODY WITH MANY MEMBERS, AND THESE MEMBERS DO NOT ALL HAVE THE SAME FUNCTION, SO IN CHRIST WE, THOUGH MANY, FORM ONE BODY, AND EACH MEMBER BELONGS TO ALL THE OTHERS.” ROMANS 12:4-5

We Belong to Christ and are called to connect to and care for the Body of Christ.

Ministry Strategy: Connect/Care

With “Community” as one of PCC’s Core Values, we will show we are more than just a gathering of individuals with common interests. Rather, we intend to show we are truly committed to supporting each other. This commitment will be seen by how we share, support, celebrate, and walk alongside one another as we experience life’s joys, crises, and transitions. We will continue to care for one another and grow as a congregation.

Establishing supporting structures and processes is important to accomplishing these objectives. We will seek new ways to develop and build multigenerational connections and community as we continue to support traditional generation-specific ministries. Small groups and our recreational ministries will find the support they need to grow and strengthen our boundaries. In sum, we will be a family that intentionally lives the Christian life together.

BECOME

We Grow through age-level discipleship to Become…

“WE WILL GROW TO BECOME IN EVERY RESPECT THE MATURE BODY OF HIM WHO IS THE HEAD, THAT IS, CHRIST.” EPHESIANS 4:15

We Become more like Jesus Christ by growing through Scripture, prayer, and devotion.

Ministry Strategy: Grow

Creating thriving ministries for children, youth, and young adults is critical to the future of PCC. Demographic studies show there is a growing population of single, multi-ethnic young people living in our community, yet this group is underrepresented in the life of the church in general and PCC in particular.

Healthy spiritual development of young people is vital to lay a foundation for an engaged faith journey as an adult. Pasadena is committed to nurturing deep personal connections with children, youth, and young adults throughout their life journey, creating an atmosphere that makes PCC a place they want to be.

Our efforts to create thriving ministries for younger generations, however, does not mean we will ignore adult spiritual discipleship. Being a disciple is a life-long journey seeking to grow in study of Scripture, spiritual disciplines. Disciples are called to prayerfully seek opportunities to challenge and stretch their understanding of Scripture and trust in Christ and one another. PCC will cultivate a simple and intentional adult discipleship path that is committed to spiritual formation ministries and stewardship.

BE THE DIFFERENCE

We Serve, Share, and Commit in order to Be the Difference…

THEN THE KING WILL SAY TO THOSE ON HIS RIGHT, ‘COME, YOU WHO ARE BLESSED BY MY FATHER; TAKE YOUR INHERITANCE, THE KINGDOM PREPARED FOR YOU SINCE THE CREATION OF THE WORLD. FOR I WAS HUNGRY AND YOU GAVE ME SOMETHING TO EAT, I WAS THIRSTY AND YOU GAVE ME SOMETHING TO DRINK, I WAS A STRANGER AND YOU INVITED ME IN, I NEEDED CLOTHES AND YOU CLOTHED ME, I WAS SICK AND YOU LOOKED AFTER ME, I WAS IN PRISON AND YOU CAME TO VISIT ME. MATTHEW 25: 34-36

We make a difference in the world when we serve locally and globally, share our faith, and commit wholeheartedly to building the Kingdom of God.

Ministry Strategies: Serve, Share, Commit

We will Be the Difference through service, sharing, and commitment.

Through Service, we recognize one of the ways to show Christ is to walk alongside the materially, spiritually, physically, and socially poor so we can be a witness of God’s grace and love. We also understand PCC Missions Ministry is an entry point for some to be a part in the life of the church. PCC is committed to help end family homelessness and childhood hunger in Pinellas County through our strategic partnerships with Resurrection House, Healthy Start Coalition, and Pack-A-Snack.

Through Share, we will use new ways to reach those who do not know Jesus, have lost their faith, or have been hurt by the church. PCC will become the church, not just on our main campus, but by connecting with the community in multiple ways in various locations and platforms. We will seek new ways to connect with people beyond our main campus in order to show them they are loved by God and invited to join a community of believers here at PCC.

Through Commitment, we understand being a disciple means living out generous stewardship of time, talent, resources, prayer, and witness. We will commit to serve the church through various volunteer opportunities such as; ushers, greeters, administrative office, and worship tech. We will also utilize our Lay Leadership Committees throughout the year to help encourage and empower our volunteers and church congregation. When people feel encouraged and supported, they grow in their trust in leading and serving and in their trust in the church.
