Rev. Sidney Tompkins
Rev. Sidney Tompkins is an ordained Deacon in the United Methodist Church and a licensed Mental Health Counselor. Rev. Sidney’s first assignments at PCC included Christian Counseling and congregational care. Now her primary responsibilities include overseeing PCC’s education ministries in addition to her pastoral duties. She can frequently be found making hospital, nursing home and home health rounds. She leads a weekly Bible Study class and every year leads an acclaimed sexuality class for fifth grade children and their parents, which PCC has hosted for more than two decades.
Sidney has a Master’s degree in Counseling from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana and completed her theological studies at Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois.
Before moving to St Pete with her family in 1998, Sidney ran a private psychotherapy practice off Music Row in Nashville, Tennessee where she specialized in marriage and family therapy, infertility counseling and she taught stress management classes for Fortune 500 companies and government agencies.
