Face Mask Protocol for 17 and Under

Dear Parents and Guardians,                                                                                                      7/1/21

After much prayer, consideration, and dialogue amongst church & school leaders and ministry directors, we have decided to modify our mask restrictions for our summer session, regarding our preschool, children’s, youth, and sport’s ministries. Please be aware that we are doing so with the utmost consideration for the health and safety of our students, staff, families, and congregation. This change is following the decision of the Pinellas County School Board, which lifted mask mandates for all students effective at the end of business on Tuesday, June 9th.

Meeting with all the directors of our Preschool, Children’s, Youth, and Sport’s Ministries, it was thoroughly established that all guidelines for student ministries be uniform, practical, and align with public safety policies.

Effective immediately, mask and face coverings for children/youth under the age of 18 is now optional in all church buildings and property.

We will continue to adhere to the following safety procedures and revisit & review all Covid-19 protocols for the 2021-2022 school year.

  • Each child will continue to bring individualized snacks and a water bottle for outdoor time daily.
  • Handwashing and sanitation procedures will still be frequently emphasized throughout the day.
  • Family exposure and positive Covid-19 results must still be reported to the school for notification to the Pinellas County Health Department for recommended mitigation or student quarantine measures.
  • Students sent home from school with a fever of 101.0 F or higher will be asked to see their pediatrician before returning to school.
  • All families and staff will be expected to continue following CDC recommendations and protocols for travel and when not in the school/church environment.

As always, thank you for your continued support and faith in our leadership decisions at this time. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your ministry director by phone or email.
